Dr. Jyoti Sawant brings 39 years of extensive experience across multiple domains, including academia, research, diagnostic laboratory management, quality assurance, and clinical research. Her expertise also spans the development and validation of diagnostic tests.

She earned her Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. Dr. Jyoti was awarded a Fellowship by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and received a Research Fellowship from Mumbai University.

Following her Ph.D., Dr. Jyoti served as a teaching faculty member at M.G.M. Medical College, Navi Mumbai, and later at L.T.M. Medical College & L.T.M.G. Hospital, Sion, Mumbai, accumulating 16 years of teaching experience. She is a recognized postgraduate instructor at Mumbai University for M.Sc. (Biochemistry), where she has mentored numerous students in their research endeavors.

Dr. Jyoti has also held the position of Chief Biochemist at Agilus Diagnostics Ltd. (formerly SRL Ltd.), Mumbai, a globally recognized NABL and CAP-accredited diagnostic laboratory. She has a deep understanding of advanced technologies in Biochemistry, Special Chemistry, and Molecular Testing, and has extensive experience in setting up diagnostic laboratories and navigating the accreditation process.

Her specific areas of interest include metabolic profiling of various disorders using Mass Spectrometry, Newborn Screening, diagnosis of Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and Toxicology. Additionally, she has a keen interest in Genetic Counseling, having completed an introductory course at the University of South Carolina, USA.

Dr. Jyoti is a skilled Quality Assurance professional, serving as an empanelled NABL Lead Assessor and Technical Assessor for Clinical Biochemistry under ISO 15189:2012 and ISO 15189:2022 standards. She has presented her research at numerous conferences, published papers in reputable journals, and delivered lectures at various CME programs.
